He broke the "doctor's offices are buckets of money" story, with repercussions this afternoon within AstraZeneca.

Another reason that I don't talk to pharma sales reps. They in reality, as does every predator toward prey, regard us with absolute contempt.

Dr. Rost said "I'm not necessarily proud of this. More of my thoughts to come." What strikes me is the "not necessarily." I think its fine that you broke the story, but you seem somewhat proud. I think it was great that you broke the story, however, if you KNEW in ADVANCE that he could have been fired for his comments, it seems like, maybe, you could have protected his identity. This incident now makes me very fearful. The reason being, how many others is it going to drag into the closet who were just peeking out to speak?
I know you are a very brave person, but many of us can not afford to as outspoken as you. And if we are outspoken, in what we think is a PRIVATE venue, then, we should not have fear of losing our jobs.
It is NOT your fault that he was fired, however, I wonder, if your post would have been AS effective, if you would not have named him.
Did you ask his permission to post his comments?
Thanks for allowing this discussion

There was no need to protect his name. He put himself out there when he did a public newsletter, which listed all his personal details, just like I do when I write this blog.
I don't feel happy about contributing to the demise of anyone's career and I think he was made into a sacrificial lamb.
He was foolish enough to speak the ugly truth, not realizing how it would look, and got caught doing it on this blog and other news media, that's why he was fired.
Thank you, I have now read the back story, and I agree that he did DO this to himself. Keep up the great information flow!
