Google Map direction from New York to Stockholm, Sweden
Check this out, especially the instructions from Google Maps on how to cross the Atlantic ocean!

Swim across the Atlantic is a little easier said than done.
One thing I don't like about Google Maps is that it often does not give you the shortest route. For example, in swimming across the Atlantic Ocean, you would save several hours by swimming along an arc of a great circle, not the straight-line route Goggle suggests.
When I added the destination of Seattle Washington to the Map, I learned that I would also have quite a swim ahead of me, and then a cut across the country :)
Peter, you really have a great sense of humor. Funny, but also pointing out an important BUG in Google Maps.
