Are they Nuts in the Middle East?

Fist Hezbollah kidnaps a couple of Israeli soldiers. They probably felt very macho doing that. As if they had no idea how Israel would react.

And the Israelis, of course, react exactly the way they're expected to act.

Result:Full naval blockade of Lebanon, a bombed international airport. The Lebanese government also said 53 Lebanese had died since Wednesday, including one family of 10 and another of 7 in the southern village of Dweir. More than 103 have been wounded, the Lebanese said.

On the Israeli side, two civilian Israeli dead, one killed on her balcony by a rocket, and about one hundred wounded, so far.

All these deaths to "free" two men.

Doesn't seem like a fair trade for humanity.

They are nuts, on both sides of this conflict.

Completely, irrationally, nuts.

And they won't stop until there are no Israelis and no Palestinians left killing.

Meanwhile we fuel the flames by giving billions in military aid to Israel and some humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, just so they can all continue fighting, paid for by our tax payers.

In fact, it is all so crazy that it makes you wonder if it isn't so crazy.

Follow the money trail.

Who makes money off this whole thing? Who just bought oil futures like crazy over the last few weeks. Who's smiling?

As a matter of fact, this e-mail arrived yesterday to the Dow Theory Letters, one of the best financial websites there is:

I trade oil on the floor of the NYMEX.

Beginning June 22nd, there has been large scale buying of oil in a very conspicuous manner through June 30. Monday the 26th was noteworthy as one buyer bought as many contracts as anyone was prepared to offer in front of a drive to take out the previous week's highs.

Someone has placed an enormous bet on an upward drive in prices over the next few months.

I've only seen it a few times and each such drive has preceded a $10 - $14 move.

The more sophisticated research around the street has apparently assigned a 70% probability of $90 oil. Lord knows where gasoline will be trading.

Lets see what the summer brings.

Fade this at your peril, me thinks!

On the second last Thursday of June, some big, conspicuous, constant buying began in the Oil pit. A steady stream of bids for 500 contracts began coming in all afternoon. The following day, the same, with one broker bidding for 3,000 contracts at a clip. (This is an exceptionally large order in the Oil market. On the close, the same broker bought 2,000 more contracts.

The following Monday, the market opened down 25 cents. The same broker bid for and bought 2,000 25 points lower, then bid for another 3,000. 5 minutes later he bid 20 cents higher for 5,000 contracts. Some 15 minutes later he bid for another 5,000 contracts at Fridays high. That sent the market running.

Each day the following week there was conspicuous steady buying of 1,000's of contracts through June 30.

On yesterdays sell off to 72.90, there was enormous buying around the 7300 - 73.20 area.

So the question is, how much is coincidence and how much are we all puppets, manipulated for profit?

I don't know the answer.

I just wonder if, when something looks completely crazy, if isn't so crazy after all.

Call it contrarian thinking.

Doc, it's just you and me. Did a neutron bomb hit our site? The structure's there, the people are vapor. I just got in and checked the previous half dozen threads, and nada. Oh, well, no one said said this was gonna be easy.

O.k, let's get down to business. You gotta put out for an audience of one the same as you would for a thousand. We'll fix this traffic thing and keep on truck'n.

This latest post, trading oil and derivative contracts, fabulous! Futures trading pits are the most honest, raw, valid, examples of how the world works. Everything comes down to bid and asked. All the billion veneers of bullshit are absent, and you got a guy with a deed on one side and a guy with a checkbook on the other. If you want to pull back the curtain to see how "sausage is made," futures pits are the place, baby! "Where the rubber meets the road."

Obviously you got my juices jivin with this post, and I'm ready to stay up all nite to get into it, but if I'm talking to myself, I'll just ask you to keep this topic going.

Well, clearly, this was not just all a coincidence. First, the roadmap crisscross through Israel. Gaza returned. Then daily kassamrockets. No one blinks. At the same time Iran, an oil producer starts posturing, together with Syria. Two Israeli soldiers are killed inside sovereign Israeli territory, one is kidnapped, and reportedly held in a hole under ground. And 18-yr old boy is "butchered" who was also kidnapped. Then they demand thousands of prisoners returned. When everything is starting to develop "nicely", Hezbollah puts out the same tricks from Lebanon, and inside Israel. Oil prices are one thing. World domination is another thing. Bush has gone too far, and everyone is pooh-poohing him. When Abbas and the Hamas leader inspected the damage to headquarters they were smiling happily. Who holds the strings to the oil market? Who has the most shares and who stands to profit? And in the case of the world situation, where are all the muslims? They are all over the world, and attacking everywhere and everyone at the same time. The dollar has devalued for a long time and there are record debts. Syria and other countries are exchanging dollars into Euros. This is about money, yes, maybe, but more about power. Money is all relative, it is just a way to keep score. Money will be worth much more if you hold the most power and have the best (oil??) economy. Who is buying the shares? The U.S. is the largest consumer of oil. Economics is one way to get the "enemy" - the U.S. - down on its knees. The U.S. also sends aid to Israel. Therefore, getting the U.S. down on its knees, is one more step towards driving Israel into the sea. It is complex. It is well planned out, and starting to become almost transparent, because it plays all over the world now. Stay tuned. We are living in interesting times. The U.S. is the last colonial power, and they are in a war, against western religion (global jihad), and colonial power. Has been going on for half a century now. In this country people are fighting each other. Christianity is weak and getting weaker - scandals and corruption. The womb of the Arab woman, combined with their love of death, rther than life, is another weapon they have. The west can not win this. Unfortunately. There are no cities and countries to conquer. This is a global and "spiritual??" movement. A destructive one. Al Qaeda has already officially declared that they will get the U.S. through bringing down our economy. It has been out there, in the news. We just, still, do not believe it.

Ok! You got my interest:

"Who makes money off this whole thing? Who just bought oil futures like crazy over the last few weeks. Who's smiling?"

What's the answer?

Anonymous, do me a favor. Put a suffix to your I.D. so we know it's you (as opposed to others). If nobody else is talking, then scratch that. You write good stuff. My mantra has been, as you aptly state, that things are much, much more complicated than we're used to dealing with. Among your many valid, and logical points, though some are unproven, or unprovable, you are at least attempting to explain the theatre and the issues.

Doc's dilemma that he posed was , I think, huge and uncomman trades were taking place in the pits, coinciding with the turmoil currently going on. So, obviously the chicken and the egg have appeared. Fertile ground for a million theories, we gotta separate the possibles from the woo-woo conspiracies

You're my baby, Beeta! Or is it my Beeta baby? LOL. Please don't take offense, I plead old age.
Before I plunge into this thing, the ground rules gotta be that we agree that the situation is as extremely complicated as a barrel of snakes, scorpions, and a million other vipers. If we get into individual issues we'll get bogged down on tangents, and I'd rather try to look at the "big picture. Wadda you think?

Doc's offering was the oil futures pits. I think we should use it as the home base for everything else. Who was doing the trading? Were events being manipulated by the traders, or were the traders (with inside information) taking advantage of events?

Any one of the many, many points postulated would take weeks, months, years to fairly analyze. Each one is a different topic for a different day. If we don't narrow it down to a subject/topic that's possible and realistic to discuss, we're just gonna toss out a million points and go home with migraines.

Sleep tite, Beeta

This all goes back to how "we are ALL slaves on this global plantation." Except for the wealthy of course who have the money to purchase weapons and pay their armies.

Doc, it's all contrived and WE ARE being manipulated.

Re "personhood" status for corps: The movie "The Corporation" is a must see! Rent the DVD and watch it ... the history is all laid out.

Beeta, you are incredible! I asked for it, and boy, did you give it to me! I only read thru your post post once, quickly, and at first glance nothing popped out that I would strenously disagree with. Obviously you put a lot of thought into it and it deserves a more thorough reading, and an equally thought out response. But inasmuch as my plants are wilting from my bodily "fragrance" a shower is beckoning, but I will try to respond as soon as I can. Thanks, and as always, you're the best!

MsMelody, Cut it out! I'm trying to get to the shower, but I'm laughing so hard I just walked into the closet and can't find the hot water spout.
