Puff n’stuff: Peter Rost is off the Huffington blog, at least for now

Be forewarned: This is hardly vital news, and will probably only interest any journalists and mediaphiles who find it, but…

Haven't always been that nice about Peter Rost on this blog. There is much to respect about some of the things he's done—in particular, his past whistleblowing and his opening up debate about drug importation. A year ago, I'd considered him a real "hero." But too much has happened since then that has simply been "perplexing."

But I'd still enjoyed checking on his new career as a blogger (despite some awkward posts and some often angry and illiterate reader comments, or alleged reader comments) on Huffington post.

I stopped posting at Huffpo because of the censorship. In the blogger section, some of my posts wouldnt appear and if they did it was several days later while some that were obviously written by trolls would show up immediately after the blog was posted.

Hopefully Arianna will get wind of this and do something about it. Im sorry you were the victim of a witch hunt. Unfortunately on many websites from the left and the right, there are moderators or in this case a techie who has an axe to grind and uses his or her "power" to make life miserable for the poster or blogger. They are sorry excuses for human beings. Keep fighting back Doc we are with you.

Dear Mr. Rost,

I was able to get in a post or two to your blog at Huffingtonpost.com (the one about the Rendon Group as I posted the Rolling Stone article link and the additional links about Bamford as well). Huffingtonpost.com has been banning me for making posts about Mearsheimer and Walt (and similar) like the following one:

Why aren't we discussing this Mearsheimer/Walt segment on the pro-Israel lobby which aired on C-SPAN's 'Washington Journal' this morning?:

nomorewarforisrael you were banned because you cut and pasted articles non-stop 24/7.

Some of your continuous posts would take up an entire page of comments. It didnt matter what the subject was, you would post about Israel non-stop.

The thing is that I agree with you about Israel's negative influence on foreign policy and their treatment of Palestinians but you went the troll's path in getting your message across.

Posting 5 or 6 times consecutively on Israel about an article on global warning, the same 5 or 6 articles you posted in the comments section about illegal wiretaping is trolling. Huffington post banned alot of people who didnt deserve it, you are not one of them.

(Sorry Dr. Rost for getting off topic but this needed to be said)

Hardly, anyone who posts tht truth about the war for Israel agenda at Huffingtonpost.com is being censored there... How many blog entries have we seen about the Mearsheimer/Walt paper on the pro-Israel lobby there? Normon Solomon's is the only one I can recall.. Blatant censorship is going on at Huffingtonpost.com as there is no doubt about it...

Huffingtonpost.com just banned me again within minutes for posting the following to http://www.huffingtonpost.com/james-love/the-freedom-to-blog-on-th_b_23712.html?p=2#comments as there is incredible censorship going on there:

The following was posted in the comments section of the various blog entries by Peter Rost via http://peterrost.blogspot.com

Just noticed that Huffingtonpost.com even removed the above post from http://www.huffingtonpost.com/james-love/the-freedom-to-blog-on-th_b_23712.html?p=2#comments after I was banned for making it just minutes ago.

They are censoring anything on Israel because, the Zionists know the jig is up thats obvious.

Israel and the Zionists can't hide or play the blame game now that they've ruined our country, via neocon intervention.

Those losers are all the same now, just like the trolls such as returnofdrevil2, Al Rogers, Nan Ellen of the Daily "KOS" propaganda press.

Very much agree with the above.. My HPCensoringBigTime Username was just banned at Huffingtonpost.com for posting on pages 1 and 2 of the comments at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2006/06/24/excia-aide-reveals-new-d_n_23738.html about the Zionist war for Israel agenda and the Mearsheimer/Walt paper on the pro-Israel lobby segment which aired on C-SPAN's 'Washington Journal' program this past Friday..

Abraham Foxman (of the ADL) was hammered hard by the caller (a lady with the Brit accent calling from London) on C-SPAN's 'Washington Journal' this morning as she mentioned the USS Liberty attack/cover-up (http://www.ussliberty.org) and Paul Findley's 'There Dare to Speak Out' book and Jim Bamford's 'A Pretext for War' book as well (both the Mearsheimer/Walt and Abraham Foxman segments can be viewed online via the links at the following URL):

I got banned at the Huffington post for, I think, writing that they are biased in their political coverage - and I'm a liberal! And had made many liberal posts. But never write in criticizing them. A newspaper prints more critics than they do. And it is Huffington's site. She is well aware of the banning. I did a search on Google for banning, because I enjoyed the site and could not believe I'd get banned. Afterall, I'm a liberal and a polite liberal at that. Apparently, I'm not alone. Someone in the press ought to cover that she's actually more biased than Fox, because at least they allow people on who criticize them.
