Pay bonanza at Pfizer. Again.

Pfizer Vice Chairman Karen Katen is taking off with $76 million in her pockets, according to the WSJ.

And CEO Jeff Kindler gets a 36% base-pay raise for 2007 and takes home a total compensation valued at $11.4 million for 2006, according to AP.

For some reason Pfizer's sales reps are not amused. More here.

Oh, and by the way, here is Pfizer's share price development over the last five years, compared to the AMEX pharmaceutical index:

Hi Doc. Good to see you back on the Pharma beat again. I've have just picked through the SEC filing and updated my blog accordingly. There's enough stuff in there to keep a blogger in posts for a few days. But I'm beginning to wonder if all these "greed beyind the dreams of avarice" pay-outs is turning into a ho-hum "dog bites man story".

I may have to give up on the satire stuff. The industry keeps doing things you just can't make up...

And so many people wonder why health care costs are so out of hand. Without a clue. Sigh...
