Well, the big pharma since their true begining in the late eighties and nineties of the last century, wanted to become just like any other big business; anything goes and "everything is legal as long you don't get caught" (from Bob D's song). They have made it and now this strike in Italy is a step further. Never in their recent history did big pharma have any mass rebelion from with in. Yes there were few "trouble makers" like our own Doc. here and yours truly and few others but they were only a minor irritation to these "people". Most employees are loyal, dedicated and keep their voices shut up, for simple reason of having a nice time and collecting an income much higher than anywhere else in the econmy. This from cleaning lady to the top feeder on their food chain because there is so much in the trough to go around for when you have prices as they do and when you are strip-mining every nation's health care system, be it private or public, you got it made. How many of those who do not agree with the Doc said that he was crazy to risk his highly paid job, for what? They do not understand or do not want to. Why rick everything? Why indeed?
So in such LA LA land climate for strike to happen is something very unusual and for sure troubling for the big pharma big boys. Are reps and others going to do it in USA or Canada. Would not bet on it. In France? just watch it.

I would like that employees of Schering had done the same strike or similar at least against the the "friendly" takeover from BAYER
